Managed old-growth oak forest in France
Sustainability

Our commitment to the planet.

The most sustainable material is one that already exists.

Reclaimed first

A second life for old oak

Our reclaimed French oak started its life in ancient French forests and was built into villas, barns and chateaux across the country. When those structures are no longer in use, we salvage the oak by hand.

We remove the metal, clean it and select only the best timber for flooring, beams and furniture. Nothing new is felled, and wood that has already stood for centuries goes back to work.

Managed forests

Old growth

Our old growth French oak comes from forests that have been sustainably harvested since the 14th century.

To keep these forests healthy for generations to come, each felled tree is replaced with a seedling. The timber is PEFC certified, the global equivalent of FSC certification.
