Parefeuille tiles were first produced in the 17th century in the south of France, where they quickly
became popular as a durable and decorative flooring option. Made from local clay and fired at high
temperatures, Parefeuille tiles are known for their rich, warm tones and distinctively irregular
shapes, which give each tile a unique character and charm. Over the centuries, Parefeuille tiles
have been used in some of the most beautiful and historic buildings in France, including the Palace
of Versailles and the Chateau de Fontainebleau.
