Reclaimed French oak flooring from original 17th and 18th century floorboards, supplied in their authentic, time-worn state.
These boards are not antiqued or aged. They are the original floorboards, worn by generations of use, with the grain, color and marks that only centuries can leave. Every plank has been reclaimed, cleaned and finished by hand.
French oak is traditionally live sawn, which shows tight straight grain beside cathedral arches and the occasional knot or mineral trace. Expect natural variation in color, surface and thickness from board to board. That variation is the character of the floor.

Origin and history
Walked on for centuries, and made to be walked on again
These boards were laid as floors in French homes in the 17th and 18th centuries. Generations crossed them every day, and the soft sheen, the worn hollows and the old nail marks are what that long use left behind.
Much of the French oak sold today is new wood, stained, scraped or oxidized to look old. This is the real thing. Nothing has been added to age it, so every mark you see was earned.
We select, grade and denail each plank individually, then mill it to tongue and groove so it can be laid again. A floor that has already served for centuries, ready to serve again.
