Origin and history
A pattern born at Versailles
The Versailles pattern dates to the 17th century, when it was first laid in the Palace of Versailles for Louis XIV. Interwoven geometric shapes sit within large square panels, and the European aristocracy adopted it for their estates and chateaus.
These panels carry that design in original French oak boards salvaged from old buildings across France, with the patina that only time can give.
